Subject: Hearing Aids - DVA's Duty of Care
A number of hard working veterans have finally managed to sort out the ongoing problem of hearing aids and how to resolve individual veterans’ difficulties with the offices around the whole country of Hearing Australia. This office is the principal supplier of hearing aids to Veterans in Australia.
With the intervention of DVA's Richard Bartlett who is the National Manager for Primary Claims and he has direct access to the Office of Hearing Australia who managers hearing aid supplies for all Veterans'. His contact details is (02) 6289 6243 in Canberra. His principal assistant is Georgina Denney on (02) 62896780. If you hear of a Veteran having problems with the supplier of hearing aids please advise Richard as he is coordinating complaints and attempting to resolve the issues of the suppliers not advising Veterans' with all the information regarding the issue of hearing devices. Individual clients are welcome to ring him directly should they be confronted with unexpected co-payments demanded from Hearing Australia.
Alternately a veteran can email me and I will attempt to resolve their problem.
Could this receive the greatest Australia wide veteran publicity as it’s so important to many people’s quality of life? It must get into all the ESO journals possible preferably more than once so people will notice.
Regards,
Rod Bain.
